Peak District Day Trip Coach 1

Peak District Day Trip from Liverpool

The Peak District is Britain’s first National Park. Enjoy incredible scenic views of this unique landscape as we make a short climb to the top of Mam Tor where you can see for miles across the rolling hills. We will also spend our free time in the beautiful village of Castleton – there’s nothing better than relaxing in a cosy English pub with roaring fires after your walk in the fresh air. There are also opportunities to visit Peveril Castle (£5.60) or one of the local caverns (£9-12) – see booking information below. Alternatively, join the guides as we will walk through either Cave Dale or Winnats Pass which are gorges formed during the Ice Age and you really have to see if for yourself (free and no need to pre-book). All in all a spectacular day in the British countryside!

Things have changed since the beginning of 2020 and to avoid disappointment, some activities should be pre-booked if you’d like to do them during your free time in Castleton. We should be in Castleton from 1-4pm. For Peveril Castle, please book here: Peveril Castle Tickets For any of the show caves, book here (Daytripper recommends the Treak Cliff Cavern): Book a cave visit. Alternatively, join the guides for a walk to one of the local gorges.

In July and August there may be 2 coaches operating with different meeting points in the morning – so please check your itinerary carefully (which will be on your confirmation email).

variations on the trip

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan and British weather can be changeable. If the guides deem the area to be too flooded, icy or if there are extreme high winds or heavy rain we may offer an alternative to Mam Tor which would be to visit the town of Bakewell – famous for the Bakewell Tart….yummy. We do believe in getting outside and enjoying the outdoors so if it’s simply raining, please come prepared as we will get wet (and have a great time doing so!).
