The Lake District – Keswick Boat Cruise

The Lake District is the UK’s Largest and most visited National Park. It is the largest area of land to be named as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy incredible scenic views of this beautiful landscape on a day trip to one of the most dramatic lakes in the Lake District – Derwent Water. One of the best ways to see the area is to go on a lake cruise (included in the price)! Join us as we enjoy a relaxing 50 minute boat ride around Derwent Water near Keswick taking in the views of the mountains and islands of the Lake. After this we will have an optional short walk to Friar’s Crag to take in a famously beautiful view point of the lake. Following the lake visit, you will have free time in the beautiful town of Keswick – a lovely market town with traditional shops, cafes and pubs.

Trip Itinerary

We will have a relaxing 50 minute lake cruise around Derwent Water and enjoy incredible views of the landscape from the boat. Then we will walk 15 minutes to a Lake View point – Friar’s Crag. From here, you will have time to visit the traditional market town of Keswick. Here you’ll have free time for lunch where there are cafes, shops and traditional pubs

Walk difficulty: Easy. Some cobbled streets and steps but mostly flat with accessible paths.  Steps getting on and off the boat.

variations on the trip

Sometimes things don’t always go to plan and British weather can be changeable. If for any reason the boats are not running at Keswick we will offer a boat cruise on Lake Windermere. If both Lakes are not running boats and we cannot offer an equal equivalent, you may receive a 20% refund if it goes ahead or a full refund if the trip is cancelled by us. We do believe in making the most of every opportunity to get outside and visit lovely places, so if it’s simply raining then we will get wet (and have a great time doing so!).
